Cross Keys Inn, Temperance

With special thanks to the cricket team of the 2006/7 season at Sedbergh School

We have managed to help the village shop re-open in De Rust village.

Thanks also go to Anne Jones from Sedbergh and her sister Claire, who were

on holiday in South Africa, and they helped to push the large trolley around cash & carry and helped to find all the stock on our list.

The pictures below show Alan, Chris and Dave Wilkinson, a volunteer from Scarborough, unloading the stock purchased with money given by the team and handing it over to Frans the shop keeper.

Our next task is to get the shop repainted and brighten up the signage. Currently two more volunters from the UK are keeping more than warm under our summer sun and are busily painting the outside of the shop.  Our thanks to Alan and Sheila Jewell.

Hopefully when the cricket team visit South Africa at the end of March they will be able to perform an official opening. So keep watching.
